Malware, hacking, corruption and by accident are some incidents that may cause me not to access my digital files. Malware and hacking are issues wherein cybercriminals’ goals is to access your personal information or damage the device. It may happen in the photos on my messenger or facebook application or files that was stored in cloud. Corruption, on the other hand, may happen because of some failures in the software or errors in the system that may happen in local and external drives. And accidents happen on my external drives that is easy to lose and deleting the files unintentionally.

To prevent this kind of instances, I must secure my personal information and prevent myself from opening links or apps that are suspicious. And to secure my files, photos or anything in my storage, I must prevent from putting simple passwords and make it a complex one. Also I should install apps for anti-virus/malware. Lastly, in case of unpreventable cases, the safest is to have back up files in different format or in drives to avoid data loss.
